Neuromodulators in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Francisco
Reverse signs of aging and prevent wrinkles with neuromodulators such Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jueveau. Rather than spending thousands on surgical treatments later in life, or consistently spending hundreds on anti-wrinkle serums, many people are using neuromodulators to stop signs of aging from developing.
While the name neuromodulator may sound a bit intimidating to those unfamiliar, they’re all FDA-approved and deemed safe treatments. And, their ability to relax muscle fibers and prevent muscle contractions provide consistent and reliable results for those looking to keep their face (or other body parts) looking forever young.

What are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are compounds that relax muscle, prevent wrinkle formation, and are injected directly into the target muscle area. Various neuromodulators all work a bit differently, but they all essentially regulate how signals are transmitted between neurons.
Neuromodulator injections target a group of neurons in a given treatment area, altering the strength of neuronal signal transmission. In layman’s terms, they can prevent strong muscle contractions — which, over time, cause wrinkles.
This restriction of movement and relaxed state can lead to:

Produced by Allergan, Botox has been the most popular neuromodulator for over 20 years — and for good reason. Botox’s main ingredient prevents muscle contraction at the site of injection, providing results that last 3 to 6 months and appear within 7 to 9 days.
Produced by Galderma, Dysport is an alternative to Botox when the patient wishes to achieve muscle relaxation across large areas. Since the solution diffuses more than other neuromodulators, it’s use case is much different and unique. Results last 3 to 6 months and appear in 2 to 5 days.
Unlike other neuromodulators, Xeomin contains a single ingredient, whereas others have proteins and additives. Because of this, it may be less likely to produce allergic reactions.
Jeuveau has the same main ingredient as Botox, and there’s hardly a difference. Though in some cases, patients respond particularly well to Jeuveau. This neuromodulator is known for being especially effective at treating “Glabellar Lines” which are the creases in the skin on your forehead, above your nose.
Glabellar lines can give the impression that you have a furrowed brow or are always expressing disapproval. These wrinkles emerge prematurely in certain people and can be brought on by emotional tension and stress. Jeuveau is especially effective at getting if of these forehead wrinkles and it is also less expensive than similar neuromodulators.
Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of the botulinum toxin that are used to treat the signs of aging by minimizing wrinkles, frown lines, and crow’s feet.
Botox is the brand name of one of the first neuromodulators used to treat wrinkles. Botox treatments are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed today. Botox is administered through injections of small doses of the neurotoxin solution that temporarily relaxes the muscles under the skin which minimizes and prevents the appearance of wrinkles.
Neuromodulators are approved for cosmetic usage in patients who are 18 years and older. When being used as a preventative treatment against wrinkles, neuromodulators are recommended for patients beginning in their mid 20’s and early 30’s.
