Upper Blepharoplasty Procedure
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and light sedation and generally takes about one hour to complete. During the procedure, you will remain comfortable, but will be awake enough for our surgeons to evaluate your eyelids in the open and closed position to ensure symmetry and desired contour.
An incision is made within the natural crease of the upper eyelid to minimize scarring. Excess skin and fat are removed, and inner eye muscles can be tightened, if necessary, to improve the contour of the eyelids. Very fine sutures are used to meticulously close the incisions and are removed in approximately one week.

In general, upper blepharoplasty surgery is well tolerated. Most patients have minimal discomfort in the treatment area, which can be alleviated by taking mild over-the-counter pain medication.
