The Wave Lift is a Mini Facelift exclusively developed and designed by Wave Plastic Surgery to address the early signs of age in the midface and lower face regions. Our signature procedure was developed to provide exceptional results with minimal scarring and recovery time.
It has been our experience, that with the exception of the traditional facelift procedure (which is the gold standard), there have been numerous procedures and machines that promised truly rejuvenating results that have all ended with disappointment. Through our extensive experience with endoscopic procedures, we have developed a minimal incision, minimal downtime mini facelift procedure that creates a natural and definitive rejuvenation of the mid and lower face.
Depending on the patient’s preference, a Wave Lift can be performed under local sedation or general anesthesia. This facial rejuvenation procedure is minimally invasive, meaning that we only make an incision in the temporal groove above the ears. This results in less scarring and a quicker recovery period.
We use the body’s own natural ligaments to gently lift the face and then hold them in place with strategic sutures that elevate the skin and underlying muscles. During the Mini Facelift procedure, we pay particular attention to the nasolabial fold (smile lines) and jowls to target the early signs of aging.
Facelifts and Mini Facelifts are cosmetic surgical procedures that aim to improve the appearance of the face. A younger look is achieved by tightening and lifting the skin on the face. The main difference between a facelift and a mini facelift is the incision size and placement.
A facelift is a more comprehensive procedure that involves making incisions in the hairline and around the ear, lifting the skin, and removing excess fat and skin. Comparatively, a Mini Facelift uses smaller incisions than a traditional facelift and endoscopic techniques in that incisions are placed in strategic locations around the ear where they can be easily hidden. This leads to less scarring and a quicker recovery time.
Mini Facelifts also tend to be less invasive than traditional facelifts, and they can achieve similar results. However, Mini Facelifts are not suitable for everyone, and your surgeon will be able to advise you on whether a Mini Facelift or a traditional Facelift is right for you.
The best candidates for a mini Facelift procedure are individuals worried about their sagging and aging facial skin. Typically, this surgery is viable for younger individuals since their skin has some elasticity.
Also, it is suitable for the following:

The mini facelift is a minimally invasive facial plastic surgery procedure that addresses wrinkles and sagging skin. Because this procedure is typically performed endoscopically, using small incisions, patients will avoid the scarring and long recovery time associated with a traditional facelift. A mini facelift can improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, define the jawline, and gives an overall younger appearance to lower two-thirds of the face
A mini facelift involves the placement of incisions in front of the ears from the hairline to the bottom of the earlobe. Once the incision is made, a cosmetic surgeon pulls the skin and underlying tissues upward and outward. They will then remove excess skin and tissue to tighten the facial skin.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a full facelift costs about $7,600. Due to the work that is added or done, mini facelifts can cost the same amount in some cases. There is a range of estimates between $3,500 and $8,000.
A full facelift and a mini facelift provide long-term results. A mini facelift typically lasts 10 years, although each patient’s case is different. There are some patients who continue to see results for more than 10 years.
During a mini facelift, incisions are made in front of the ears from the hairline to the bottom of the earlobe. A gentle pull is then performed by the surgeon on the skin and tissues up and outward. To tighten the skin, excess skin and tissue are removed.
The mini facelift is ideal if your jowls are sagging or your neck skin is loose (but it has not drooped).
Generally, men and women in their 40s and 50s up to their 60s or 70s make good candidates for mini facelifts. Our focus is on a patient’s overall health, mobility, and treatment goals, rather than a cut-off age.
