Microneedling is one of the more popular procedures done at Wave Plastic Surgery, because of the many benefits it offers, including:
- It’s gentle and non-invasive.
- It can correct uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, discoloration and acne scars.
- It can improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines without the use of dermal fillers or neurotoxins.

Microneedling Pre-Treatment:
- Avoid tanning beds or sun tanning 4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Avoid certain skin products that may cause skin irritation such as retinol, hydroquinone, acid base products for 2-3 days before treatment.
- Ensure skin is clean of makeup.
- If patient has history of herpes simplex (blisters, sores), a prescription of antiviral medication is required 5 days before treatment and 5 days after.
- If sensitive to pain, topical numbing cream may be applied for 40min prior to treatment.
Microneedling Post-Treatment:
- Patient should apply sunscreen daily.
- Avoid sun exposure for min 2 weeks after treatment.
- Avoid exercising, hot spa, and sauna for 24 hrs.
- If skin irritation occurs, patient may use ZO epidermal repair cream.
- Appointments should be scheduled every 4 weeks.
- Skin care products (retinol, HQ) may resume the following day after treatment.
