Who is a Good Candidate for Upper Eyelid Surgery?
Good candidates for upper blepharoplasty should be in general good health, nonsmokers, and without serious eye conditions. An upper blepharoplasty can help reverse the signs of aging and restore a rejuvenated appearance to your eyelids.

Upper Blepharoplasty Procedure
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and light sedation and generally takes about one hour to complete. An incision is made within the natural crease of the upper eyelid to minimize scarring. Very fine sutures are used to meticulously close the incisions and are removed in approximately one week.

Expect some swelling and bruising to occur after surgery. Keep in mind it can be minimized with proper rest, cool compresses, keeping your head elevated, and avoiding salty foods. Recovery time varies based on individual overall health and the specific treatment performed. The average recovery period ranges from 10-14 days.
