The Fat Grafting Process

The fat grafting process transfers excess fat from the abdomen or outer thighs into areas that maybe lack in volume, giving a naturally young look to the patient. Because fat cells are live tissues, they will have sufficient blood supply after being injected into the face to sustain their survival.

During this process, those fat tissues with no blood supply will be absorbed by the body. Depending on the procedure the amount of absorption might vary, but normally 50% will survive permanently. The fat cells can last 3 to 5 years, depending on an individual’s fat absorption capacity.
